Achievement Difficulty Tiers

Based on early Steam global stats (post-launch), approximate rarity tiers:

  • Common (Day 1–5) — Events I, II, V, VII; most players hit these on a blind first run.
  • Uncommon (Day 6–12) — Events III–VI, VIII–XI, XIII–XV; need district unlock awareness.
  • Rare (Day 13+) — Events XII, XVI–XX; loyalty and key-item gated.
  • Very Rare — Every Stone Turned, Chronicler of Gadola; full completion.

Farming Tips

  • Keep a gallery save before Day 14 gala; several events chain from that night.
  • Event XX only appears on true ending—do not expect it on a bad-ending cleanup file.
  • Steam may batch-pop multiple Event Witnessed trophies if you load a late save with many scenes unseen.
  • Consult Missables before skipping any evening district.

Event Witnessed Cluster Guide

Grouping events by district helps route AP efficiently during a 100% playthrough.

Market cluster (I, II, V, VI, VIII)

Complete Days 2–9 in Market and docks. VIII requires rain—check weather icon on the world map each morning. If rain is forecast, postpone Noble scouting until after the spice alley visit.

Slums cluster (III, IV, IX)

Requires depth unlock Day 6+. IX is stealth-only; reloading a failed loud path does not award the trophy even if you win the fight.

Micoco chain (VII, XIII, plus XVI–XX partial)

VII on Day 5 gates XIII on Day 11. Missing VII requires a full reload to Day 5—no catch-up dialogue exists.

Noble cluster (XI, XII, XVI, XVII, XVIII)

Silencing Charm mandatory. XII needs scholar companion in party when entering library stack.

Hidden cluster (XIV, XV)

Veil Passage two-visit sequence; Subterranean Key is non-negotiable for XV.

Finale cluster (XIX, XX)

XIX loyalty pledge and XX true epilogue close the set—plan true ending before hunting XX on a cleanup file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are achievements named Event Witnessed instead of story titles?

PantyParrot used numbered event trophies in MICOCO to avoid spoiler-heavy Steam store text. HILLS continues that pattern with twenty events instead of ten.

Do failed events still unlock achievements?

You must view the full scene. Some events have success/fail variants; only the primary gallery scene awards the trophy.

Is there a debug or cheat achievement?

No. All 25 are earned through normal gameplay systems.

How long to unlock all 25?

Blind first run earns roughly half. Dedicated completion routing takes 18–32 hours total across two or three playthroughs per our 100% guide.

Are hidden achievements included?

Steam lists all 25 publicly. None are secret or undocumented in the base game client. Gallery replay does not retroactively award Steam trophies for scenes already viewed in theater mode.
